Boundaries — Lynn Ungar

Boundaries

The universe does not revolve around us.
The stars and planets,
spinning through the ballroom of space,
dance with one another
quite outside of our small life.
We cannot hold gravity or seasons;
even air and water inevitably evade our grasp.

Why not, then, let go?

We could move through time
like a shark through water,
neither restless or ceasing,
absorbed in and absorbing the native element.
Why pretend we can do otherwise?
The world comes in at every pore,
mixes in our blood
before breath releases us into the world again.

Did we think the fragile boundary of our skin
could build a wall?

Let’s listen.
Every molecule is humming its particular pitch.
Of course we are a symphony.
Whose tune do we think
the planets are singing
as they dance?

The Leaf and the Cloud—Mary Oliver

When loneliness comes stalking, go into the fields, consider
the orderliness of the world.

Notice something you have never noticed before,
like the tambourine sound of the snow-cricket
whose pale green body is no longer than your thumb.

Stare hard at the hummingbird, in the summer rain,
shaking the water-sparks from its wings.

Let grief be your sister, she will wither or not.
Rise up from the stump of sorrow, and be green also,
like the diligent leaves.

A lifetime isn’t long enough for the beauty of this world
and the responsibilities of your life.

Scatter your flowers over the graves and walk away.
Be good-natured and untidy in your exuberance.

In the glare of your mind, be modest.
And beholden to what is tactile, and thrilling.

Live with the beetle and the wind.

For a New Beginning — John O’Donohue

For a New Beginning

In out-of-the-way places of the heart,
Where your thoughts never think to wander,
This beginning has been quietly forming,
Waiting until you were ready to emerge.

For a long time it has watched your desire,
Feeling the emptiness growing inside you,
Noticing how you willed yourself on,
Still unable to leave what you had outgrown.

It watched you play with the seduction of safety
And the gray promises that sameness whispered,
Heard the waves of turmoil rise and relent,
Wondered would you always live like this.

Then the delight, when your courage kindled,
And out you stepped onto new ground,
Your eyes young again with energy and dream,
A path of plenitude opening before you.

Though your destination is not yet clear
You can trust the promise of this opening;
Unfurl yourself into the grace of beginning
That is at one with your life’s desire.

Awaken your spirit to adventure;
Hold nothing back, learn to find ease in risk;
Soon you will be home in a new rhythm,
For your soul senses the world that awaits you.

Archangel Gabriel on “Spiritual Illumination”

As channeled by Marlene Swetlishoff/Tsu-tana

December 17, 2015

Beloved Ones,

Let us have discourse on the quality of love known as spiritual illumination. Illumination means that one can now comprehend another level of reality. It comes out of the silence of contemplation and depends upon the silence for its stability. As one’s personality comes closer to spiritual perfection, one becomes aware of their higher purpose and their spiritual growth becomes their main focus in life. Their awakening personality will begin to follow the spiritual guidance that comes from within rather than through established rules and doctrines of religion and society. Spirituality becomes the central purpose and focus of their life. As one regains true knowledge through the divine that lives within them while still being embodied on Earth, they become willing to live in unity with this higher aspect of self. This awareness and illumination is a form of divine grace which encourages one to let go of all former patterns of thought and behaviour which do not match one’s spiritual aspirations. There is a longing to come closer to the divine and to feel at one with divinity.

This is a time to make all the new learning they are experiencing their own and to find ways of expressing it in the world. It is also a time to be kind to oneself. After an individual has been sufficiently cleansed and purified and their mind remains fully focused on the presence and qualities of the divine, a state of illumination may unexpectedly arise. In the initial experience, they might perceive a blinding and intense inner white light. They experience deep feelings of universal love and profound spiritual intuition and insight. For many months these deep feelings and insights will keep flowing in. These will gradually settle into a state of a raised and more intuitive and loving consciousness. They become aware of the divine presence within everyone and everything and their intuitive abilities are greatly increased. They radiate a presence of love, peaceful harmony and goodwill towards all who come into their sphere of influence. They become aware that they have received a spiritual gift along with the illumination experience and try to develop this into an ability that will lead them to help others awaken to their own higher potential.

One gradually gives up (crucifies) one’s personality and individuality. It is necessary to examine every aspect of their lives and make decisions about what they want to keep and what is to be discarded. They come to a point where they ask for nothing and desire nothing. They surrender their individual will to the will of the divine within them in total passivity and acceptance. By giving up everything and being completely passive, one is able to be filled with the divine spirit. They experience a constant peaceful and love filled union with the divine. They know themselves as a loving instrument of divine will that is meant to be used for manifesting the divine plan on earth. This comes from direct action of the divine and brings new knowledge and truths that one knows were not something previously known to them. Living one’s life in this state of illumination is easy and full of bliss; there is a permanent state of great happiness and contentment. It is like living in a state of grace that can never be lost again. Whatever one does is never for selfish interests but is always done for the highest good of all. They live a life of selfless service for the greater good of humanity and the universe.

Illumination may also occur simultaneously with the dark night of the soul or with the process of purification, enlightenment and selfless work. These may coexist together, causing emotional extremes over short periods of time. One does not need to be perfect to reach illumination but can continue their purification on deeper and deeper levels. They do not have to give up things, just their attachment to them. Illumination is the result of purifying and learning to control one’s mind, heart and emotions in order to develop a higher mental and emotional body. In today’s world, ones capacity to understand, comprehend and communicate has greatly increased and this makes it much easier to come to a state of illumination in one’s life.  This information that is available helps one to be on an accelerated path rather than being lost in confusion and emotional misery for long periods of time as happened in times past.

With all the information that is easily deciphered and readily available on the different stages of the spiritual path for the spiritual seeker, it behooves each individual to develop the ability to discern and know what is right or wrong for them. They can do this by keeping their highest goal in mind and asking their inner guidance for help to be led to the right information for their next step on their spiritual growth path. What is most important is to maintain one’s purity of consciousness and keep their spiritual goal on the right path. In this way, one is led to the right material, people or events that is important for their evolutionary progress. Whenever one really needs additional information, their spiritual guidance will let them unexpectedly find it. Walking the spiritual path means finding ones own insights and personal relationship with the divine. This illumination can be the pinnacle of achievement of one’s lifetime rather than going with the flow of chaos. Their reality is experienced with unusual clarity, and a radiance and beauty that was never before suspected.

May the vast arena of the divine creativity in which your life is immersed become ever flooded with more light and compassion for all living things.

I live my life in widening circles—Rainer Maria Rilke

I live my life in widening circles
that reach out across the world.
I may not complete this last one
but I give myself to it.

I circle around God, around the primordial tower.
I’ve been circling for thousands of years
and I still don’t know.

Am I a falcon, a storm, or a great song?

The True Meaning of Peace and Understanding – Krishnamurti

“When you call yourself an Indian or a Muslim or a Christian or a European, or anything else, you are being violent.

Do you see why it is violent? Because you are separating yourself from the rest of mankind. When you separate yourself by belief, by nationality, by tradition, it breeds violence.

So a [human being] who is seeking to understand violence does not belong to any country, to any religion, to any political party or partial system; he she is concerned with the total understanding of mankind.”

http://www.goodreads.com/quotes/520382-when-you-call-yourself-an-indian-or-a-muslim-or

« Lorsque vous vous dites Indien, Musulman, Chrétien, Européen ou autre chose, vous êtes violents.

Savez-vous pourquoi ? C’est parce que vous vous séparez du reste de l’humanité, et cette séparation due à vos croyances, à votre nationalité, à vos traditions, engendre la violence.

Celui qui cherche à comprendre la violence n’appartient à aucun pays, à aucune religion, à aucun parti politique, à aucun système particulier. Ce qui lui importe est la compréhension totale de l’humanité. »

Journey in a Boat with no Oars

Dear Friends,

I was truly inspired by the following passage from a book by Joan Norton and Margaret Starbird, and the timing of my “receiving it” yesterday evening; to the point I will be using it tomorrow during the 44th episode of Nurturing the Spiritual Spelunker in All of Us entitled, “Where is “this” going to lead us?”

Considering the journey across the sea described above, this jewel appears like the perfect illustration of my question. Enjoy!

Journey in a Boat with no Oars

Chapter 12 p. 72-73

From 14 Steps to Awaken the Sacred Feminine – Women in the Circle of Mary Magdalene, by Joan Norton and Margaret Starbird

 boat and face

Legends in Old French tell us of Joseph of Arimathea, the guardian of the Grail, and of Lazarus and Martha (of Bethany), travelling together with their sister Mary and two other Marys, Mary Salome and Mary Jacobi, the mother of James. Several other friends are with them: Maximus and Sedonius, according to some of the legends. The French legends say that this tiny group of pilgrims landed at Ratis on the shores of Gaul in a rudderless boat with no oars, about 42 CE. This open vessel, defying all odds, was guided only by the breath of Spirit blowing it across the storm-tossed sea and casting it upon the rock-strewn beaches of the Mediterranean shores of southern France.

Ratis was known for its temple honoring the Great Mother Cybele, so it is perhaps fitting that it was here that the Christian refugees from persecution in Jerusalem found sanctuary. Their only salvation was their passionate trust in their God and his plan for their safety and well-being. Their journey, buffeted by wind and rain, tossed by tempestuous seas, is the model for our own voyage on the sea of life, trusting implicitly in the guidance of the Holy Spirit to bring us safely to destination.

Reflections and Sharing

A boat is also a chalice, a grail, a place of “holding” life’s journey. It is a symbol of the “womb to womb” vessel of life of the Great Mother. After the Gospel tells us that Mary Magdalene was the woman who first saw the risen Christ and told the others, and after she met her Beloved again in the garden, she disappears from the official story. But that doesn’t mean she’s gone. We next find her in legend as a woman in a “fragile boat,” crossing to France with two other Marys, her brother Lazarus, and a child later called “Princess Sarah,” whom we understand as the daughter of Jesus and Mary Magdalene.

This is the story of Mary Magdalene traveling in a boat with no oars, guided by the hand of God to a new and unknown life in the south of France.  Among the relics we have of this journey story is a drawing of a small boat on the wall of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem with the words, “We went.”

Another very early Christian relic is a prayer rug woven in about 150 CE that shows the Holy Family, with their halos and Jesus in the center, in a “boat with no oars.” The story it commemorates in weaving is that the Holy Family of Jesus and Mary Magdalene went to France, perhaps fleeing in fear for their lives. In southern France Mary Magdalene is still celebrated in yearly pageants by the sea.

We can all find similarities in our own lives with this story of a dangerous passage to something mysterious and unknown to us. Perhaps we’re facing a new time of life that seems difficult, or perhaps we’re traveling in unknown waters inside ourselves, feeling betwixt and between ways of life.

The theme of leaving something behind and the unknown ahead is a part of everyone’s life. Mary Magdalene shows us the tremendous courage and faith it takes to “cross the great waters” and start anew. From her we learn that, despite tragedy, disappointment, or just resistance to change…we can go on in faith that our vessel is sacred and that a divine hand steers the boat.

Dying a Transitional Death

Dying a Transitional Death
Started October 21, 2015

I am about to complete an almost 3-week trip to France; the country where I was born, and where several of my lives have begun. It is a good time to reflect on what I seeded, and what I harvested, knowing part of my trip was aimed at reconnecting with a region of the south of France charged with history and tragedy: the Cathar country.

My sojourn in the south was brief and yet tumultuous if I keep adding the kilometers—the spiritual ones as well! In four days, we covered Montségur, Rennes-le-Chateau, Espéraza, Rennes-les-Bains, mystical Bugarach, and even further southeast, on the last day, Cucugnan and his famous priest, Queribus and Peyrepetuse.

20151010_155852

A view of Queribus, an old Cathar castle

These are places I knew long ago, and yet the remembrance that I experienced was very dim, to say the least.

“Why was it so?” I asked myself for a few days, before turning away from the question, thanks to the advice of my friend Linden. I knew, somehow, that the answer would come. Yet, I couldn’t push away the strange feeling I had when I left the land on October 11: coming from so far way to (seemingly) experience so little.

Yet again, part of me deep down knows that something has been accomplished—something important, similar to setting up a keystone in a beautiful edifice. It may not bear fruits in the near future, but it will influence the course of what needs to happen, at the right place, in due and fair time.

As I embarked on my reflection this evening, I discovered a beautiful poem about the Church of Love, professed by the Cathars, folks working silently to establish a peace-loving, egalitarian society. This poem didn’t fall on my lap by accident as I started to write about my journey.

Here is an excerpt, in French and English:

Ses participants pratiqueront la vérité de l’amour de tout leur être.
Elle ne cherche pas à enseigner mais à être,
et par cet état d’être, à enrichir.

Elle reconnaît la planète entière comme étant un Etre
dont nous sommes tous une partie.
Elle reconnaît que le temps est venu pour la suprême transmutation,
l’acte alchimique ultime du changement conscient de l’ego du monde
dans un retour volontaire dans le Tout.

Its members will practice the truth of Love with all their being. It [the church] doesn’t seek to teach, but to be, and by this state of being, to enrich.

It acknowledges the whole planet as a single Being, of which we all are a piece. It acknowledges the fact that the time has come for the supreme transmutation, the ultimate alchemical act of changing the world’s ego in a voluntary return to the Whole.

This supreme act of alchemical transmutation starts—and continues—with each one of us, within, purging and purifying what needs to be tended to and, just like a great river, leads us into the ocean of the Whole; the place where we all belong, knowingly or not.

For one thing, during the course of this trip, I witnessed and savored other beings’ healing or rejuvenation, and felt immense gratitude for the progress they made. Their progress is indeed a benefit to us all. I witnessed it in people close to me—my brother in the first place—and I could not believe the change I saw in him, in terms of emotional maturation and the removal of some old “family baggage.” The change was drastic and my brother’s enthusiasm felt genuine. Openness about his healing path, his struggles, ensued.

In my case, as I reflect back with a few more days behind my back, I realize that this act—my act—of alchemical transmutation has presently to do with death and dying—dying to what needs to be left behind, like an old skin or useless shell that no longer serves the purpose it did serve in the first place.

Symbols of death were all over the place and they kept recurring after I left the land of the Cathars. What surprised me the most, and caught my attention, in two of the churches I visited was the presence of a skull. A skull in the church of Rennes-le-Chateau, right by the left foot of Mary Magdalene, and a skull in another church, in Espéraza, at the bottom of what looked like an altar. I understand that a skull might signify the influence of the occult, but why would it manifest in two Catholic churches, and why would I be driven to notice its presence so vividly?

20151008_145524

Statue of Marie-Madeleine in the church of Rennes-le-Chateau

As I walked into the Parisian church of Saint-Sulpice earlier this week, I was struck by the material, solid presence of Death next to a statue of a former leader of the said church. He had passed at the age of 76, after dedicating over 10 years of his life to the revivifying the church’s mission—with much success—and was eternalized in a statue, looking up at what seemed to be an angel. But why is it that Death got such a huge positioning in the whole affair?

20151019_114427

That same afternoon, I visited The Louvre museum to finally see and examine Nicolas Poussin’s painting “The Shepherds of Arcadia.” I had been researching and reading about the inscription that intrigued me much during the past three months, with the three shepherds looking at it: “Et in Arcadia Ego.” By The Louvre standards, this sentence got interpreted as, “Even in Arcadia, I, Death, Exist.” An interpretation unknown to me till I admired the painting. Finally.

20151019_155158

Toward the end of my visit at the museum, I visited an exhibit of French statues. One statue that once resided in the ‘defunct’ Parisian cemetery of Les Innocents was coined, “La Mort Saint Innocent.” A partially skinless, fleshless representation of Death. It was the last of my “Death signs,” and possibly the most potent.

20151019_173953

Why is it that death became so prominent on my path, I shall ask, from the south to the north, and what is indeed in the process of dying?

The death of an old and stubborn ego, perhaps?

Signifying the clearing of the land for a new ‘piece of life’ to take place.

Indeed, that interpretation of mine was confirmed in a conversation I had two days later with one of my spiritual guides, Master Djwhal. The passage from one world to another, and the age that comes with each of them, is indeed significant. The Aquarian Age will not manifest fully until some months or possibly years down the road; yet its manifestation requires of us that we clear our spiritual plate, so to speak, so that the new can be grafted onto a virginal—read purified—terrain.

This is by far an unconscious, subtle process; yet signs along the road can help us understand the symptoms that sometimes manifest in the body as well; be it the physical, emotional, or mental body.

Nights have been stranger than usual in my case, with a total absence of communication from my subconscious, and it makes me wonder at what point it will once again be able to communicate with the conscious part of my being—through mystical, meaningful dreams.

Again, what needs to happen for this process to take place? What kind of inner transformation—alchemical if you will—needs to be engineered in the depth of my soul?

While I am not fully aware of what is slowly shaping up, I can certainly listen and make every effort to Stand in My True Power (Révéler Ma Vraie Nature – To Reveal My True Nature, as in the title of the tape I listened to this evening at my brother’s). Standing in Our True Power happened to be the title of my radio show on October 22nd, Nurturing the Spiritual Spelunker in All of Us.

http://www.voiceamerica.com/episode/88366/standing-in-our-true-power

Once I stopped asking the question about my reason for coming to the land of the Cathars, and my apparent lack of harvesting, the inner space I generated started to resonate with true purpose, and genuine concern for what might appear next on my path of service to Humanity: Standing in My True Power, designing classes for men to enhance their connection to the Divine Feminine, and making my offering known to whomever would like to benefit from it.

This, I believe, is the reason for our being, and the reason for making yet another trip to planet Earth in this lifetime.

Please Stand in Your True Power!

Addendum: I wrote this article a few days ago and there is one thing I realized about my trip to the South. Because of a missed connection in Munich, I arrived later than expected in Toulouse that Tuesday. By the time I drove to Cathar land, it was dark and the heavens were pouring rain on us. Conditions were similar when I left the land, meaning daylight had not yet broken that Sunday morning. Yet that ‘second darkness’ was bringing a message of Light and Hope as it was soon going to make space for a bright, sunny day. An uplifting darkness.

Thanks for reading!

An Old Irish Blessing

May the road rise up to meet you.

May the wind always be at your back.

May the sun shine warm upon your face,

and rains fall soft upon your fields.

And until we meet again,

May God hold you in the palm of His hand.

Trough by Judy Brown

Trough

There is a trough in waves,
A low spot
Where horizon disappears
And only sky
And water
Are our company.

And there we lose our way
Unless
We rest, knowing the wave will bring us
To its crest again.

There we may drown
If we let fear
Hold us within its grip and shake us
Side to side,
And leave us flailing, torn, disoriented.

But if we rest there
In the trough,
Are silent,
Being with
The low part of the wave,
Keeping
Our energy and
Noticing the shape of things,
The flow,
Then time alone
Will bring us to another
Place
Where we can see
Horizon, see the land again,
Regain our sense
Of where
We are,
And where we need to swim.
