Salt and Light

Salt and Light

“You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot.”

“You are the Light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.”

“Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house.”

“In the same way, let your Light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”

Matthew 5:13-16

About new desert

Nurturing the Gift of Seeking is about a spiritual "destination," a journey within, a new beginning, that eventually takes us where we are meant to arrive. Some call it Home, yet I am not sure what Home means, and where it is. Enjoy the journey, dear Ones! On this journey, what matters, first and foremost, is our seeking spirit. And the seed of perseverance--or faith, if you will. Happy journey, dear fellow Sisters and Brothers!

This is lovely Gilles. All pointing to the preciousness of our true nature and our unique mission. Buddha is interesting on salt too:
“Just as the great ocean has one taste, the taste of salt, so also this teaching and disicipline has one taste, the taste of liberation.” (Udana)
There is only one taste and all beings can embody it if they let their flawless diamond shine out to delight and guide all others. The opportunity of our human lives is provided exactly to polish our diamond and embody the taste of the universe.

      Thanks dear Linden,

It is nice and sweet to hear from you!

I certainly like the concept of ‘liberation’ in relation to our salt, to the polishing of our diamond. Liberation from fear, anxiety, and so on, that prevent us from shining our Light.

I have been reflecting on that a bit, basked that I am in my childhood memories at the moment, seeing my mother and staying at my brother’s.

Some of those unpleasant memories are still there, creeping in at times, and I am consciously working on the imprint they left on me. This is our Sacred work, this is our calling; so that the Light can emerge, from within.

Love & much Light, my dear
