A very simple secret

Dear Ones,

In the words of Le Petit Prince, the secret is indeed simple.

“It is only with the heart that one can see rightly. What is essential is invisible to the eye.”

Yet, in our troubled world, how do we look at what is going on with the heart? And stop processing with the mind?

There are important events these days which might somehow change the course of our world.

The legislative elections held in Israel a few days ago failed to produce a clear winner, meaning the coming weeks are now set to be marked by significant political uncertainty. This is not a good omen in a region plagued by widespread conflict and war.

A new election is taking place in the United States next Tuesday; its repercussions could upend lives. A wind of change may soon be blowing.

And in the midst of all this, two trains collided in Spain yesterday, leaving at least 68 people dead. It is an event that bears witness to the fragility of life—a life that can be cut short at any moment, without any warning.

As a tumultuous year enters its last two months, how can we make sense of the direction in which humanity is heading? And do we need to?

And how can one “seek the heart” and feel compassion for those who are suffering?

Quite a few questions today, dear Ones. We might be the witnesses of unprecedented times—times of tremendous change.

Let’s open our hearts once again and see what flourishes.

About new desert

Nurturing the Gift of Seeking is about a spiritual "destination," a journey within, a new beginning, that eventually takes us where we are meant to arrive. Some call it Home, yet I am not sure what Home means, and where it is. Enjoy the journey, dear Ones! On this journey, what matters, first and foremost, is our seeking spirit. And the seed of perseverance--or faith, if you will. Happy journey, dear fellow Sisters and Brothers!
