Maintaining the positive

Dear Ones,

In times when there is a lot going on, troubles, divisiveness, violence, storms and so on, it is important to keep a positive attitude and make sure we do not fall into the doom and gloom which is so prevalent in our society—and in politics especially.

And that we keep our hands firmly on the rudder of our life, even though the direction we are aiming for as humanity may not be clear. It is important to remain as positive as possible, and as aware as one could possibly be.

Therefore, this week, I would like to dedicate our communion to those of us who strive to do “just that.” To cultivate the positive in their lives.

Despite the strange encounters we may be making, the fears and anxiety we may be facing, the karmic aspects we may be dealing with, and so much more.

There are indeed a lot of distractions—and plenty of temptations—in our world.

This is not directly related to the theme yet I found this morning’s walk to the nearby mall interesting. The theme for this week was already ruminating and we came across three similar types of situations.

Within ten minutes, we saw a man buy three packs of cigarettes in a store—in fact, our barber! Then another one in a wheelchair smoking; and finally, a third one walking around and yes, smoking.

It is not sufficient that (some) people damage their health, they also need to give away money that will never bring any form of return except, perhaps, as a disease.

As I always like to say, “Awareness is key.”

Let’s cultivate more awareness this Thursday as we maintain—and reinforce—the positive in our lives.

About new desert

Nurturing the Gift of Seeking is about a spiritual "destination," a journey within, a new beginning, that eventually takes us where we are meant to arrive. Some call it Home, yet I am not sure what Home means, and where it is. Enjoy the journey, dear Ones! On this journey, what matters, first and foremost, is our seeking spirit. And the seed of perseverance--or faith, if you will. Happy journey, dear fellow Sisters and Brothers!
